As a Programme Assistant for Catalyst Inc, I am heavily involved in the running of events associated with our Frameworks and Generation Innovation Programmes. I have had the opportunity to integrate into the NI business community and learn from industry leaders and innovative startups. I also took part in a three day work placement with the Global Markets team at Bank Of Ireland UK.Key tasks I have carried out:– Building client relationships with the Catalyst Inc network including employees of large corporates, emerging startups, schools and councils.– Providing insights for our Generation Innovation network (aimed at young people age 16-18)– Involvement with the planning of a key marketing video alongside our marketing executive and an external animation company– Assisting with the management and updating of the marketing database (Salesforce)– Preparation for key events - ensuring all collateral is prepared and organised for upcoming events – Post-event creation of reports using Microsoft Excel, based on attendee feedback from a variety of events – Attendance and participation at business-critical meetings with our headline sponsors with the objective of building client relationships– Usage of Eventbrite to manage registrations of event attendees, to ensure smooth-running on the day – Assisting with segmenting mailing lists– Involvement in Connect at Catalyst Inc programme steering teams– Assisting with the setup of our major awards night (Invent) and our event for young people (Night Of Ambition)– Attendance at several Springboard panels (Northern Ireland Accelerator Programme). This involved giving strategic feedback to startups on their business plans– Attendance at member review meetings. – Involvement in copywriting project for the rebrand of Connect at Catalyst Inc with Copywriter Mike Fleming

As an Assistant Facilitator at Work West I am part of the 'ThinC Schools Programme', an initiative currently running in two schools across Belfast. Over the course of the past year we have brought two groups of students through a design thinking course with the ultimate goal of forming their own in-school business venture. Tasks I have carried out:– Assisting with the facilitation of design thinking workshops – Building relationships with the young people– Working with young people to help build their business skills – Contribution to action plans on the lead-up to events– Contribution to a competitor analysis project for a local social enterprise. – Assisting with a research project for a local charitable association. This included gathering statistical data.
