My work focused on a number of ways I support my operations area:First, I was responsible for facilitating SSAE16 audits from an external auditor. To ensure we perform well on these audits, I advise the operational teams on ways to design and implement their controls and monitor the control environment looking for weak spots to focus further attention.I'm also responsible for other risk management topics, including: helping to mature our vendor management program and ensuring our disaster recovery plan is kept current and tested regularly.In addition, I also frequently team with different operational teams and leverage my SQL skills to develop ad-hoc reports for the teams to help them provide data to clients or improve their efficiency.Finally, in the past I've filled in with our IT QA area when they were short staff, have written requirements for a complex, financially driven client project. I've also worked on a large conversion project helping to ensure staff was trained, procedures documented and best practices followed.

I led a team responsible for the back house administration of about 200,000 individual long-term care policies. This included all of the billing & collections activity and any policy changes an insured may request. My work focused on finding and implementing efficiencies in one off processes and building a reliable team structure where the worker is empowered to act on their own - to improve both quality and productivity.

My responsibilities included the back house operations for a couple blocks of LTC Insurance. This position was all about service and quality.
