The Saxyderms are a group of college students and young professionals that have come together to form New England's largest saxophone ensemble. Founded in 2006 at Tufts University, the ensemble plays a variety of music with an emphasis on orchestral and wind reductions. Each summer, the Saxyderms perform weekly in the Boston Public Garden during the Saxyderms Summer Concert Series. In addition, the ensemble performs two formal concerts per year. All concerts are free and open to the public.Responsibilities include personnel recruitment and management, marketing, budget development, purchasing, asset management, community relations, managing development of web presence and social media properties, and artistic direction.
