Internship In A Biocatalysis Laboratory

I decided to carry out my master's thesis in an international context. Therefore, I decided to take the opportunity represented by The Erasmus traineeship project.I've been part of the Biocatalysis and Bioprocessing group (BioBio group) at Aarhus University for 7 months.Being part and work for the BioBio group (and all the Aarhus University) was incredible.I shared months with fantastic people who allowed me to grow as a person and as a researcher. Thanks to the international environment, I could interact with people having different cultures. This permits me the opportunity to improve my English skills.My research focus was Biocatalysis in alternative media.I worked on the characterization of the enzymatic activity of alcohol dehydrogenase in the presence of different organic solvents.My main tasks were:-Production of the enzyme via bacterial cultures-Protein purification and freeze-drying-Enzymatic activity assays-Gas chromatography -Protein quantification assay-SDS-PAGE-Use of organic solvents-Monthly presentations on the work progress and new discovery in biocatalysis

Experience through the InterExchange "work and travel" project.I decided to take advantage of the months that elapsed between bachelor's and master's degrees to improve my English proficiency, including in a professional environment.Thanks to this experience, I could improve my communication skills, establish relationships with people having different nationalities and cultures.My duties were to provide the best experience to the customers during their stay.Activities such as Reception and assistance to customers, cleaning and maintaining the camping facilities were a daily routine.
