Technology Enterprise Services - Projects & Programmes PracticeVodafone Apr 2017 - Aug 2017Newbury, UkRe-engineered the change management process in P&P. The old Change Request Template was confusing, ambiguous and didn’t allow metrics to be taken automatically. Therefore, I built the form into SharePoint to solve all these issues. This resulted in an automated, non ambiguous and lalso allowed useable metrics to be generated.I led the entire project from start to finish. This included the initial planning stage, the development, the pilot and implementation into Projects & Programmes. I also created all the supporting documentation to help users continue to use the portal once I had left the business.Project Managed a cultural change initiative across the practice. Lots of initiatives had come from the Vodafone People Survey. These initiatives were designed to improve the way P&P operates and the People Survey scores of P&P and I managed the delivery of these activities. I did this by meeting with activity owners once a week and also leading the Engagement Reps in the Practice throughout my time in the placement.Project Managed the mentoring initiative across the Practice to help further employee’s skills and career progression. Created initial communication, role profiles, mail inbox and tracker. The initiative paired up people who are experts in certain skills and those who want to learn, therefore they can teach each other. -
Technology Enterprise Services - Planning & ControlVodafone Nov 2016 - Mar 2017Newbury, UkValidated & reviewed the Business Impact Assessments and Business Continuity Plans for all TES functions. This meant that TES was top of Technology for Business Continuity Management with 100% compliance. Planned and led the Business Continuity Exercise for Planning & Control. Used this knowledge to help other functions with their Business Continuity Exercise.Created Priority Users spreadsheets to highlight who the critical users were in the function; these will help decide who would get emergency laptops if there was an evacuation incident. Results in quick identification of users who should receive laptops in an emergency.Created a Site Incident Management Plan for one of the Vodafone Buildings in Bracknell. This contains the Site Incident Management Team who are responsible for their functions during an incident and making sure they implement their Business Continuity Plans. This was something that Vodafone didn’t have before and had led to problems with business continuity when there was an incident.Pain Point Management is a tool in UK TES; developed to act as a transparent database for everyone in TES to log any issues they have. These pain points can then be resolved without any duplication of work. I created the Priority Matrix to be used to prioritise pain points, the form used to log pain points, how to guides and frequently asked questions, the workflow to automatically send out emails as pain points changed status, role profiles so everyone knew what they had to do, an animation and introductory video and the dashboard to be used to give an update on all pain points in the database. This project developed many of my functional skills such as with SharePoint and Excel but also my people skills and presenting skills. -
Summer StudentSpringfields Fuels Limited Aug 2015 - Sep 2015Preston, United KingdomInvolved in the research of how to process and dispose of oily residues from site by placing samples, taken at different times in the procedure, onto a thermal gravimetric analyser. I then analysed the results to see if the procedure successful.Performed research and wrote up report on the use of a refractometer in the differentiation between water and oil-water mixtures in drums. This resulted in the purchase of a refractometer for use on plant.Simulated plant conditions of addition of nitric acid to oil to discover if any hazardous materials were formed upon reaction. I used a variety of skills such as solvent extraction and used a gas chromatograph-mass spectrometer. This research enabled the plant to see if a change in procedure was needed when processing these residues. This placement enabled me to advance my laboratory skills. As well as improve my problem solving and logical thinking; by undertaking my own projects. -
