Field questions to a variety of technical topics concerning data integration, present demos and custom demos both on-site and via webex. Support consulting team as well when needed. Design and develop solutions to a variety of data integration, data quality and MDM challenges using Talend Integration Suite, Talend Data Quality and Talend MDM. Projects include: Data Warehousing, Data Migration, Real-time data integration, MDM and various data quality initiatives as well as training on these products. Proof of concepts and consulting engagements involved evaluating requirements specifications, profiling data, and designing and automating complex ETL jobs, designed custom Talend components, error handling and failover. Design, develop, customize and deploy software to answer a variety of data integration problems using ETI software. Position required in-depth knowledge of data warehousing, analytics, Oracle, DB2, UNIX, C, C++, Mainframe, COBOL, IMS, XML, SOAP and web services. Worked with data analysts and architecture groups to create and review data models and software requirements necessary to build near real-time data interfaces, and ETL processes across disparate systems. Most significant project: ETL Developer for DB2 Data Warehouse for BCBS MN. Challenges included: Complex environment, mainframe sources, and custom code for complex transformations for type II dimensions built in as customizations to ETI’s code generation software. Participated in pre-sales activities around ETI’s Data Integration Stack: ETI Solution v5 Enterprise Data Management Platform, Change Data Capture, Data Cleanser, Data Profiler, and Built-To-Order data integrations. Design, develop, and implement C/C++ applications to support existing infrastructure and lottery OLTP engines. Design and 24-hour support of highly available software systems to support the lottery in various states. Lead of a small group of developers through software batches. Software design lead for OLTP engine. Designed and developed new RPCs to interface with a Sybase database which handles reporting and offers a GUI front-end for the central system. Added new lotto-type games in several jurisdictions, added increased functionality for existing systems, including electronic transfer of game setups, lottery results, and pari-mutuel share amounts. Conducted peer-reviews and inspections of others people's work. Most work done using C/C++ on vms and unix. Developed a plugin-api for a C++/XMLRpc network application on linux/unix for an infrastructure project going on simultaneously.

Designed and implemented numerous COM plug-ins to the IDE that performed various tasks: command-line adapter compilers, post-linkers, and helper applications for the Macintosh, Windows, Solaris and Linux-hosted CodeWarrior IDEs. Isolated and repaired bugs in the Core IDE. Designed and developed a Makefile exporter and added significant improvements to the makefile importer. Set up and performed profiling with tools such as gprof and PurifyPlus across platforms to diagnose and alleviate performance problems.
