Assisted in development of process parameters for SLM250HL metal additive manufacturing machine and assisted with surface finish measurements using Alicona 3D microscope. Parameter development improved part quality and surface finish; and enabled for the manufacturer of more complex parts than the default parameters. Prepared part geometries for additive manufacture using Materialize Magics software. Created builds for SLM250HL machine using Marcam Autofab software. Completed builds in SLM250HL machine; prepped powder bed and chamber; loaded build in to machine software; removed excess powder from bed when complete using internal powder recycling system; installed and removed build plates. Configured parameters for MakerBot 3D printer for use in demonstrations.

Ran ion plasma deposition chamber; created and captured micrographs and metallographic mounts; created macros to streamline data reduction for tensile and compression testing; documented GE proprietary casting simulation meshing software and created accompanying tutorials; performed reduction of high temperature mechanical test data to determine high temperature metal characteristics for use in casting simulation; operated small scale vacuum induction melter; worked with glove box; and modified and documented process for creating extrusion press lubrication cones.
