Design Manager for Abigroup’s Northern Region Engineering business unit from the Brisbane office in Queensland.Role involved managing the delivery of engineering inputs on key infrastructure projects in Queensland.Managing the delivery of design and engineering inputs on key infrastructure projects that are under construction in Queensland. This also includes involvement in the early phases of a project to provide upfront engineering, value engineering, design optimisation and providing input into the project programme and cost plans.Design and Engineering Manager for the Pacific National Infrastructure Alliance - AUS$160M train maintenance and provisioning facility at Nebo, Queensland. This project (now successfully handed over) is located on a remote 180Ha site with 14km of rail and multiple facilities including Maintenance Building, Provisioning Buildings, Wheel Lathe, Turntable, Washdown Buildings, Lift Jacks and Vehicle Progression Systems.Responsible for the following:• Delivery of design and engineering packages, management of design consultants and suppliers of major equipment;• Management of design-construction interfaces;• Planning and monitoring the delivery of design packages in accordance with master programme and budget;• Tracking critical design issues seeking satisfactory resolution;• Overseeing stakeholder review and design approval process; • Monitoring performance of design consultants and implementation of management plans and systems and• Management of design and front end procurement for suppliers of major equipment
