Developed an AM/FM/GIS mapping system from scratch in Java. Wrote a system to use SOAP to copy an electrical network to a 3rd party product for network analysis, enabling the client to do real time analysis of their network. Implemented an Outage Management System to enable faster repair of network issues.

Supported ICL's 2-D GIS mapping product. Was project and technical lead on a customer consulting project to write a 2-D GIS viewing applet in Java, based on ClearSpace, Plexstar's 2-D class library. Did some client/server work using a simple protocol on top of Http. Server used JDBC to pull geometric objects from Oracle. Was project lead for a team which developed a Swing based UI for managing banner ad approval process. Have worked with some middle-tier code using Weblogic EJB technology.

Helped Bell Atlantic take over a distributed circuit provisioning application which had been written by our San Jose office. The application used a TCSI toolset which was a CORBA-like product written in C++. The provisioned circuits and all hardware was stored in a Sybase database.

Designed Invoice product, as well as fleshing out a Sybase database schema based on a mainframe version of the product. Implemented a major portion of the database interaction code in C++ for Sybase and then POET, an object oriented database.

Wrote a Work flow tool to interact with our document management product. Enabled customers to process a form in 17 minutes instead of 2 weeks. Rewrote the user interface of a mapping product so that it used the X intrinsics rather than Xlib calls. This made the 2-D GIS mapping product execute faster and be more user friendly. Presented lectures to a customer group on Sybase and other tools. Completely redesigned the mapping product's database interface to use Sybase instead of the Empress RDBMS.As project leader for a major telephony effort, worked alongside the marketing department and with customers to define requirements. Led the design team for the Telephony product, which centered around tracing a network of phone lines, cascading modifications throughout the network. This effort would save telephony mappers time and increase accuracy in their maps.

Joined the Core Graphics group at the beginnings of an effort to develop a new object oriented Mechanical CAD system. Was technical lead of a group which wrote the user interface of our new product. The object oriented system was a proprietary C-based object system with features similar to C++.
