Sr Financial Analyst working on the FP&A team supporting SmileDirectClub's International and Oral Care business segments. Partnered with executive leadership team to provide thorough financial analysis and reporting for monthly, quarterly and annual results. Created financial plans and vendor budgets for each of the company's 11 international markets. Built out and automated a P&L forecasting model for Oral Care line of business.

My 2nd rotation in Unum's AFDP was on the Closed Block segment, where we provided financial planning and analysis on Unum's legacy products (long-term care, individual disability). I led monthly and quarterly financial review meetings where we reviewed each product's performance with business line CFOs. Variance analysis, expense management, investment portfolio reviews. Also prepared short and long-term financial plans for each product in the Closed Block.

A member of Unum's prestegious Accounting and Finance Leadership Development Program (AFDP). My first rotation was on the GAAP SEC Financial Reporitng team, where I was involved in preparing financial statements that are filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission and other external parties including statutory filings with the NAIC. I also assisted with the preparation of internal management reports, external surveys, and other related financial statement preparation activities. Helped automate reporting functionality within Workiva Cloud reporting platform. Created journal entries and ran account reconciliations.

Managed a claim block supporting Short-Term Disability product line.

Main duties include analyzing and determining eligibility for customers who apply for Short Term Disability benefits. Analysis is conducted by examining employer policies and determining if the employee has fulfilled all necessary requirements to be eligible. Once we have enough information and can make a decision, we either pay or deny the claim. Must have strong attention to detail, critical thinking, verbal and written communication skills, and able to effectively multi-task.
