After enjoying many opportunities at Continental, I quickly figured that being a BI Analyst was not a profession in which I could fully use the talents I excel at: my people skills.That is the reason why I decided to make a big shift in my career and become a Cabin Crew Member at TUIfly Belgium! I will be able to interact with passengers face-to-face on a daily basis and use my proficiency in languages. The airline industry has always immensely interested me and I am very curious to discover the ins and outs of flight operations in the coming months!

As a BI analyst, I analyzed sales figures and monthly reports while interpreting the trends in order to present them to internal stakeholders. My knowledge on analysis software, like Power BI and Excel, skyrocketed.

As I have previous experience in giving workshops to exchange students, it seemed like a great opportunity to further my teaching skills as part of a student job. In Re-Mind, I gave coaching to students in high school, the exam commission track and higher education. This coaching included going over course material, doing exercises with the students and evaluating (oral) mock exams. My area of expertise is languages (Dutch, English and French) but I have also given coach sessions in high-school level history, mathematics and natural sciences.

In the framework of my Postgraduate’s degree in Digital Marketing and Communication, my internship program rotated between two weeks of classes and two weeks of hands-on learning at Pandrol Sustainable Resilient Systems. That schedule was very unique and useful to apply my gained knowledge throughout the year.I was responsible for a wide variety of tasks: selecting the most informative KPIs through Google Analytics, drawing up a Google Ads campaign, establishing and maintaining contact with mock-up model companies and several more.

On a daily basis, I contributed to the ongoing communication needs by creating content for the various social media platforms and the monthly newsletter. In addition, I provided assistance with all facets of public diplomacy events, in-person and online. One major event was the Francophonie Cultural Festival, where my tasks included brainstorming, setting up and managing online registration tools, technical responsibility for the recording of the discussion panel, video editing and more. It was an absolute privilege to be introduced to the diplomatic ins and outs of an embassy and I have enjoyed many opportunities during my time there!

At Brussels Airlines, I learned how to help with projects, how to interact efficiently with the media and how to deal with crises. I helped with both the internal and the external communication by translating and writing press releases and composing press reviews. Unfortunately, because of the Covid-19 outbreak, my internship was cut short but it was truly an enriching experience.

With Mise en Place, I had the opportunity to serve guests at prestigious events. I served on bussiness events, weddings and even a dinner with A-list tennis players from Belgium and Spain. As all guests have different preferences on how to be addressed, I acquired the skill to easily code-switch between formal and informal registers and behaviors.

Three of the previous summers, I worked as a student at Logistiek Centrum Leie, which is one of the Belgian distribution centers of the supermarket chain Lidl. As an order picker, I carried out a physically demanding job during which I wasn't afraid to do the dirty work. I also got a taste of organization in a logistical way.

My job at Kinepolis really taught me how to work in a team. My colleagues and I really developed a well-oiled machine to work the cash registers, refill the shop, clean the auditoriums, give a behind-the-scenes tour on a kid's birthday party, etc. The main focus of our service was to go the extra mile for our guests to deliver them a great night out with a smile. The great amount of variety and camaraderie made working there almost like a hobby rather than a job.
