Tom is a digital-first consultant helping public media stations make the transition to being content-centric and platform agnostic. He is also a Senior Lecturer in the School of Communication at the Rochester Institute of Technology. He teaches multiplatform content strategy, social media, journalism, advertising and immersive storytelling. Before joining the faculty at RIT he was a Producer, Videographer, Editor, and Social Media Manager for WXXI Public Media where he won two NY Emmy Awards. Prior to that he was a Senior Media Specialist at the International Monetary Fund. His career has taken him across five continents, always in pursuit of compelling stories. During his career he has been involved with nearly every level of production - behind the camera as a videographer, behind the computer as an editor, supervising colleagues as a producer, and working with management to plan for and implement a content-centric, digital-first approach to production.
