My broad expertise is my ability to utilize my 30 years of Telecom/WAN systems & business experience ranging from circuit/software design, architectural design, product planning, founding multiple successful Startups, marketing and sales technology spokesman, fund raising, design & company management and involvement in acquisitions and a multi-$billion IPO team.My early experience began with circuit,software and firmware design in early digital PABX systems. This evolved into architectural, system design and implementation of the Harris 20/20 digital PABX. At Harris/DTS I was the senior Telecom system engineer and was asked by Don Green to evaluate an opportunity presented to him that ultimately led to the formation of Optilink. I then joined the founding team of Optilink along with Don and others. in collaboration with that founding team, I led the system design and implementation of the Litespan 2000 Bellcore defined optical next generation digital loop carrier based on TR-303 and SONET. My architectural work led me to become the primary technical sales spokesman for Optilink/DSC which sold into all of the then 7 RBOCs plus GTE. Over 60 million homes have been served by the Litespan 2000/2012 which had a nearly 20 year life from Optilink to DSC to Alcatel.With this experience as a co-founder, architecture, system design, management, design, leadership and sales spokesman, I founded Next Level Communications (NLC) with Pete Keeler in 1994. At NLC, I gained experience at a higher level in the overall business including raising venture funding, business formation, leadership, dealing with lawsuits, sales involvement with customers along plus setting up a Vietnam design group, negotiating an acquisition and eventually participated in NLC's 1999 $10B IPO. After 2 years of lock up after the IPO of NLC, I left NLC in late 2001. While at NLC, we had set up the Vietnam design team with a group of took over and formed Arrive Technologies.Arrive Technologies develops high end Telecom chips and FPGAs. Arrive Technologies was ultimately sold and I am now retired. Thanks for all the help and support by the many investors, engineers, and marketing/sales people from whom I gained valuable knowledge and experience. All startups are a massive complex team effort and without that team, nothing is possible! I lived through it all and will be forever grateful for such an experience.
