The Hawaiian Ocean Plastic Company’s mission is to generate positive impact through enabling the monetization and commodification of waste plastics through producing durable & wearable goods from Hawaiian-Collected Ocean Plastics. A portion of the sales of the durable goods contributes to research and cleanup efforts necessary to combat existing plastic pollution in the State of Hawaii. Also, encouraging pollution prevention campaigns through increased exposure of the issue of plastic pollution in the oceans, on the beaches and in the rivers and waterways while also educating on the effects therein on marine ecosystems such as ingestion of waste plastic, entanglement from waste plastics, the harmful byproducts contained within and also negative aesthetics which create monetary losses to the community.
