Dr. Thomas A. Feo is CEO and co-founder of Healthcare Control Systems, an Austin based corporation specializing in the design, development, and implementation of large scale, decision support and control systems for the healthcare industry. Dr. Feo has worked with many corporations and government agencies including Air Force Office of Scientific Research, APL, AT&T Bell Laboratories, Burlington Northern Santa Fe, Canadian National Railway, Canadian Pacific Railways, Consolidated Rail, Florida East Coast Industries, Hospital Corporation of America, McDonnell Douglas, Norfolk Southern, NYK Lines, Office of Naval Research, Pacific National Corporation of Australia, Saint David's Healthcare, Sematech, Seton Healthcare Network, Texas Instruments, Union Pacific Railroad, United States Air Force, and US West.Dr. Feo was a faculty member at the University of California, Berkeley, the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, and the University of Texas at Austin. He was at UT from 1986 to 1995 where he served as Associate Chairman of the Department of Mechanical Engineering and held the John Kasch Endowment in the College of Engineering. He taught in the Operations Research and Manufacturing Systems Graduate Programs. Dr. Feo’s academic research centered on combinatorial optimization and the design of efficient heuristics. He is the author of over thirty publications in the field of optimization.Dr. Feo is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas. He received his MSE and Ph.D. degrees in Operations Research & Industrial Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.
