Dr. Greig is the Chief Medical and Health Information Officer for the Department of Defense (DoD) Military Health System. Dr. Greig serves as the DoD Representative to the Health and Human Services (HHS) Health Information Technology (HIT) Policy Committee and is the DoD Co-Chair of the Interagency Clinical Informatics Board which governs the clinical performance and development of the Interagency Electronic Health Record (iEHR) and the Interagency HIT Portfolio. Dr. Greig is responsible for all aspects of clinical information systems in the DoD and is the Clinical Informatics Consultant for the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs. He is an advocate for all providers in the Military Health System.Previously Dr. Greig was the Director of Clinical Informatics for the DOD from 2005-2011. He served as the founding DoD Co-Chair of the Interagency Clinical Informatics Board. Dr. Greig lead the development of the DoD/VA Health Information Sharing initiative and policy. He was the proponent for all clinical information systems in the DoD and served as the Clinical Informatics Consultant to the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs. Previously Dr. Greig was the Director of the U.S. Army Aeromedical Activity from 2000-2005. His team developed the AERO, a web based flight physical and process improvement initiative which reduced flight physical processing time from 179 days to 3 days and reduced support staff from 24 to 8 people. His department was awarded the 2005 Army Surgeon General's Excalibur Award. Dr. Greig has served as a Brigade Flight Surgeon, Clinic Commander, and as hospital Chief of Primary Care in both overseas and in the continental United States assignments.
