This was the largest CT unit operating in the Middle East at that time. In the two year operating period, over 2.5 million running ft. of CT were used. A significant portion of the CT intervention work was performed in multi lateral wells. Marine vessel based acid stimulation treatments formed a large part of the work scope. I authored an SPE paper based on this work.Other duties include providing technical support on cementing, stimulation and coiled tubing services to Halliburton’s customers, as well as preparing technical and commercial bids and acting as a mentor for new field engineers.During ’98 I was given the role of Middle East Product Champion for “Carbonate 20/20” Halliburton’s new systematic approach to carbonate acidizing. This regional task demanded in depth technical knowledge of the chemical stimulation and acidizing systems involved. Deliverables included internal training of Halliburton’s engineering staff and a commercial rollout culminating in the “product launch” at the Middle East Oil Show (MEOS) in Bahrain in Q1 ‘99.
