Reno Office Engineering Manager - Manage the Reno Office. Provide project management for large, complex projects to ensure compliance with state, local and federal regulations. Prepare and present the engineering plans and progress status updates to project stakeholders and financiers. Monitor budgets to evaluate profitability and modify processes to increase utilization and deliverable quality.Pacific Regional Market Sector Lead - Maintain Water Conveyance marketing and business development activities for the Pacific Region that includes Nevada, Northern California, Oregon, Washington and Alaska. Establish and monitor regional opportunities, approve and direct capture plans and provide assistance for opportunity wins.

Manage a team of senior engineers, staff engineers, staff designers and technicians; and in consultation with the Location Principal, assign each to projects based on experience, need and availability. Determine required staffing levels and recommend adjustements in staff size accordingly. Evaluate the technical competence of staff and insure prudent training activities. Instill confidence and respect through professional leadership, participation and motivation.Provide Project Management for large, complex projects.

Manage the operations of the Water Utilities, Electrical and Signals, Environmental, Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) and Landfill Divisions of Public Works Department.Plan, direct, and coordinate, through subordinate level staff, the Utility Division’s work plan; assign projects and programmatic areas of responsibility; review and evaluate work methods and procedures; and meet with key staff to identify and resolve problems.Recruit, hire, supervise, direct and manage each division’s employees to ensure the operations are accomplished in the most efficient and equitable manner; assure compliance with all City policies and procedures, pay practices, applicable collective bargaining agreements and other administrative resolutions.Develop and administer the division’s budgets; approve the forecast of funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials, and supplies; prepare water, wastewater and landfill rates, fees and charges; approve expenditures and implement budgetary adjustments as appropriate and necessary to meet the end result.Project Manager for the $40 million North Douglas County/Carson City Regional Waterline Intertie Project-North/South Phases I, II and East/West Phase II, and the $2 million Carson City Wastewater Reclamation Plant North LIft Pump Station Improvement Project.Assist in the preparation and implementation of goals and objectives for each Division and the Public Works Department; establish schedules and methods for water production, electrical and signals operations, environmental and wastewater treatment operations and maintenance, and implement policies and procedures.Communicate and coordinate with the Public Works Director to ensure information flow of the division’s progress and activities and any significant contacts with the public and the media. Communicate with the Mayor, City Board of Supervisors, and City Manager.

City Engineer - Responsible for development review services, creating and revising the City Design Standards, planning assistance, improvement plan review for consistency with City and State Codes, City of Fernley Design Standards and the Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction, land division survey map checking and general assistance to the Public Works and Community Development Departments. Also responsible for management of the street maintenance program and the City’s water, sewer, and storm drain systems as well as the review of geotechnical reports, traffic studies, hydrology studies, engineer’s estimates, planning applications, signatory approval of improvement plans, attending City Council and Planning Review Committee Meetings as the City Engineer.Served as Project Manager for the following projects: City of Fernley Water Master Plan Projects 9 & 12, City of Reno West Street Riverside Market, City of Fernley Sewer, Water and Storm Drain Master Plans, Intermountain Water Project and provided resort professional services for projects in Hawaii, Cabo, Cancun and the Caribbean.

Created and executed project work plans and revised as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements for private developments and Public Works projects. Identified resources needed and assigns individual responsibilities. Managed day-to-day operational aspects of each project and scope. Reviewed deliverables prepared by team before passing to client and submitting to each entity. Effectively applied O'Day Consultants methodology and enforced project standards. Prepared for engagement reviews and quality assurance procedures. Minimized company exposure and risk on each project. Ensured project documents were complete, current, and prepared in accordance with Professional Engineering standards.
