Currently investigating the effect of active ingredients on oral commensal bacterial biofilms, I have refined a range of microbiological skills across my time in both higher education and the workplace.I'm driven by a desire to use my knowledge and training to tackle global problems. With experience in the assessment of antibiotic resistant bacteria and genes in treated wastewater, infection dynamics of carcinogenic and commensal bacteria on mammalian immune cells, the localisation of key virulance determinant proteins in pathogenic bacteria, and the real-time dynamic response of biofilms to chemical treatment, my interest and expertise in healthcare related microbiology is ever growing.
