The server provides a set of abstract COM interfaces that support serial (RS-232), network (UDP/IP), and dialup (TAPI) communications.- Created a communication port management server that allows multiple modules to share a single port when communicating with a chain of door access controllers. The server also handles the details of incoming and outgoing modem calls using TAPI.- Designed and implemented a multithreaded event system for distributing DCOM messages to multiple client applications. The system allows applications to register for groups of events and asynchronously send events to other registered applications.

It supports communication with disk arrays using serial (RS-232), SCSI, sockets, named pipes, and SPX.- Designed and implemented ArrayServe, a server application that provides ArrayView with access to remote disk arrays. ArrayServe runs on Win32, OS/2, and NetWare. ArrayView can connect to the server using sockets, named pipes, and SPX.- Created CFX, a portable C++ class library. CFX supports Win16, Win32, OS/2, NetWare, and UNIX. In addition to providing OS and GUI classes, it also provides the client-server-hardware communication code used by ArrayView and ArrayServe.- Contributed to the development and maintenance of CORE Performance Monitor (Windows and OS/2) and CORE Status Monitor (DOS). These products are the precursors to ArrayView.- Created Event Scheduler, a task management library for Win16 and DOS. Event Scheduler provides an easy way to write cooperative multitasking applications by allowing the developer to break large tasks into smaller subtasks.
