Versatile Data Scientist with a diverse background spanning physics, materials science, and data analytics, dedicated to leveraging cross-disciplinary expertise to drive innovation and provide practical solutions for complex real-world challenges.During my time in academia in Materials Science, from obtaining a Postgraduate Masters and a PhD in Materials to over seven years as a postdoctoral researcher, I've been fortunate to amass a strong publication record, successfully mentor students, and contribute to practical improvements in industry through hard work and innovation.Working with data was the aspect of my previous work that most interested me, and I was intrigued by the innovations being made in the field. Hence, I decided to transition to data science. I embarked on a journey of self-led learning, augmenting my existing data skills acquired from previous roles.My first role in this field at the Office for National Statistics (ONS) provided invaluable experience as a data scientist/data engineer, fostering collaboration on programming projects and instilling robust principles in reproducible analytical pipelines (RAP).Since November 2023, I've continued to expand my expertise in a more data science-focused capacity at the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA), leveraging my skills to drive insights and innovation in a dynamic environment.
