After having an opportunity to retire from Ford Motor Company after a 30 year career in October 2017 I took some time to recharge. I formed my own consulting company, Markessa Consulting, LLC, in April 2018 (after painting the whole house interior) to offer my experience and talents. I am uniquely qualified to assist raw/bulk material suppliers to the automotive industry to follow best practices, have an effective Quality Operating System, and reduce your defects and costs. I was most recently the Senior Supplier Quality Engineer for aluminum mills and extruders on the evolutionary F-150, SuperDuty, and Expedition/Navigator vehicles. I am familiar with the challenges and unknown and unforeseen failure modes that these aluminum intensive vehicles presented. I enjoy motivating others and teams and have a hands-on practical approach to problem solving. I follow a path of personal and professional continuous improvement and thoroughly enjoy tracking the automotive industry. The successful launch of the F-150 truck was the most rewarding position in a 30 year career. As the competitor OEMs and steel industry watched (and perhaps hoped we stumbled) Ford maintained sales leadership and the supply of high-strength military-grade aluminum never inhibited the build.
