I am a self motivated, fast learner and I believe that I can bring many skills to the team. My extensive experiences in patient care have helped to prepare me for my career in radiology. I am a dependable employee as I am always on time and willing to help out where extra help may be needed. Working well with other people is one of my many strong suits, but I am also able to efficiently work by myself when needed. Being able to critically think and get the positions necessary to obtain a diagnostic exam is another skill that is necessary as an RT and I feel that I excel at this.Prior to my current job as an RT, I worked as a State Tested Nurses Aide (STNA) in a nursing home for 4 years. While at this facility, I provided exceptional care for residents with wide ranging skill levels building trust and rapport through effective communication and compassion for the residents. I also mentored incoming staff and assisted them in the development of their time management and communication skills. Though this position was not easy, it was very rewarding in that I felt I was making a difference in the lives of my residents. I learned many skills in my time at this facility which include, patient care (both physical and mental), patient safety, working with other aides and nurses as a team, and many more which have directly helped me excel in the position I currently hold as a Radiologic Technologist. During my time working at the nursing home, I also attended Mercy Health Defiance Hospital for my clinical rotation in Radiography. Here, I completed 1,000+ clinical hours while performing exams and providing care both by myself and along side of other technologists. While in school I obtained my certificate in Computed Tomography as well, however my clinical competencies are still needed for this. All of these experiences have shaped me into the technologist that I am today.
