Analyze group medical, dental and life benefit plans and assess risk. Use established underwriting criteria and policies to provide proper product pricing. Negotiate and fully explain rate developments, pricing components and application of underwriting policies while remaining conscious of financial objectives. Evaluate and recommend alternative pricing options and plan design changes based on individual group characteristics. Participate in cross-departmental project work groups. (MMACT, Customer Loyalty Work Groups, and NERT PPO Roll out, various state audits / exams.)Collaborate and share information cross-functionally. Work with Actuarial, Standards Management Unit, Implementation, PSS, and all levels of Management to get the job done.Manage multiple tasks and effectively prioritizes work. Interact with and communicate technical concepts to internal and external constituents. Mentor less experienced underwriters in the development of their technical skills.Makes recommendations and suggests alternatives. Work on Groups from 125 - 3000 Subscribers. HMO & Traditional Platforms, ASC and Conventional Funding. Complete Medical, Stop Loss and Dental Underwriting and develop financial exhibits and documentation that enhance delivery.
