At Commodore Consulting I was mostly a web developer, I helped spicing up the company website as well as doing a few website projects. I also assisted with various tasks at the Norwegian School of Information Technology, like planning course lessons and assignments for game programmers.During my time at Commodore Consulting I got the opportunity to explore technologies and aspects of programming that I had not yet been able to look into, like C#, test-driven development and clean code.

Instead of just writing a bachelor thesis, the students at NITH are also stationed at a company for half a year, where they work on a project. While there, they must follow the regulations and routines of the company, and when they are done, they will have a finished product of which they can be proud as well as excellent and relevant working experience.My team was assembled by Funcom, and it consisted of 11 students: 5 programmers and 6 designers. We continued working on the vertical slice that we had made previously in the "Game Production" course. Six months later, the game was even more playable and fun, and my team got the best grade (A).Technology used: - UnrealScript (gameplay programming) - Java (game launcher & updater) - XHTML / CSS / PHP / MySQL (online feedback form) - Tortoise SVN (revision control)

All first year students at NITH must go through the Java introduction course. Once a week, the main Java lecturer gives a presentation where he discusses new subjects. Later that week, the same subjects are repeated by another lecturer for those who did not make it to the first one, or for those who did not fully understand it.I was the repetition lecturer for a whole semester in my third year, and the job was to prepare my speeches, and then perform them in front of a lecture hall full of students.

As part of NITH's new promotional campaign, six students were picked to represent their respective study program. I became the "Game Programming" representative, and it was my task to be active on Twitter and Facebook by answering the questions of potential new NITH students about the study program and the school in general.Representing NITH on various education fairs held across the country was also part of the job. We answered questions, handed out the school's catalogs, and otherwise tried convincing as many people as possible to sign up.

A group of students felt that they were having a hard time keeping up with their Java education, so I was told to arrange a weekly workshop for them. The idea was that the small group of students would be able to get more time with the supervisors than they would if the rest of the first year students were present.Another student and I were appointed supervisors for these workshops, and our task was to raise their Java level by giving them simple assignments, helping them with their regular assignments, or explaining subjects they had trouble with.

When the first year students were doing their assignments in Java programming, I was one of their supervisors. My job was to help them as much as I could by explaining the problems they were having, thus giving them the tools they needed to find a solution on their own.Another part of the job was to join the other supervisors in grading all the Java hand-in assignments.

In our "Game Production" course at NITH, the students formed teams to simulate the workflow of a complete game production pipeline. Our team's task was to plan and develop a vertical slice of a game concept provided to us by Funcom, using Epic Game's Unreal Development Kit.I became the lead programmer on my team. I was responsible for the communication between our other programmers and the designers, as well as making many decisions related to the systems we were building for our game. My team got the best possible grade (A) for the work that we did.Technology used: - UnrealScript (gameplay programming) - Jira (project managment) - Tortoise SVN (revision control)
