As the founder of Northern Runners, it is amazing to see the network of runners growing towards 2000 members since May 2011. I've reached my initial running goals, and set new ones every year. The Midnight Sun Marathon Foundation (MSM) was established in 1989 and organized the first Midnight Sun Marathon in 1990. Since then, MSM has become an organization that organizes various sports and cultural events in Tromsø. The MSM Foundation organizes Polar Night Halfmarathon in January, Sami Week in February, Arctic Snowshoe Race in March, Midnight Sun Marathon in June and Tromsø Mountain Challenge in August.

MSM is an institution arranging sports and cultural events such as Midnight Sun Marathon, Polar Night Halfmarathon, Arctic Snowshoe Race and Tromsø Mountain Challenge, but also Saami Week. I represent Tromsø Municipality in the Board. I really enjoy contributing actively to important international events in Tromsø, and look forward to developing them further!

The petroleum sector is Norway’s most important industry, and is constantly developing. The Norwegian Petroleum Society (NPF) is a membership body for people interested in the country’s oil and gas activities. NPF Barents is the local (regional) chapter of NPF covering the northernmost part of Norway, from around the city of Tromsø to the county of Finnmark. I started out as Chairman for the Tromsø Chapter, which during 2017 merged with NPF Finnmark to form NPF Barents.
