• Conducted a study on water quality in a coastal aquifer by recording water resistances leading away from the coast to determine the severity of saltwater intrusion in the area
• Determined water resistance by sending electrical currents into the ground which would connect to other points along the array
• Observed differing resistances which would project a gradient that could be illustrated using the RES2DINV program. The gradient helps predict where the salinity of water changes
• Concluded that saltwater intrusion was slowly occurring most likely due to increased use in groundwater resources due to private and agricultural uses
• Exercised the following skills while completing field work: computer analysis, data collection, data analysis, 2-D and 3-D data extrapolation
