Working as an EMT providing emergency and community care in the Dublin area and nationally, as needed. We support the frontline services in their role. I’m the Ballygall Unit Training, Cadets and Grants Officer. Additionally, I'm a member of the National Critical Incident Stress Management Team (OMAC) providing peer support to members who’ve experienced acute psychological distress. During the Covid-19 restrictions, I was responsible for coordinating the first aid responder refresher course in blended-learning conditions for the eastern region.

Lecturer In Psychology

Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland

Responsibilities include:• Teaching psychology, pre-hospital care, workplace safety and other modules• Student welfare and advocacy• Maintain competence in fields of instruction and eLearning (online/blended)• Design updated and accessible material for diverse learners• Use multiple teaching methodologies and methods to enhance learning• Maintain competence in digital technologies (MS Office, Zoom, LMS, Rise & more)• Develop and administer quality assured assessments for national awards (QQI, PHECC)• Evaluate and support student learning• Data management, analysis and report writing• Administrative duties and research• Develop new courses and ideas to support college development. In 2019, I took the opportunity to apply my expertise in first aid within the college by developing a First Aid Response program with joint-accreditation of the Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council and the City of Dublin Education and Training Board (delivered in Colaiste Dhulaigh CFE). This decision reduced costs significantly for the college while maintaining a very high standard of training delivery. I managed the accreditation process, necessary equipment orders, designed much of the content and contributed to quality assurance. Additionally as instructors, a colleague and I planned the lessons, developed high quality content and led instruction (with team-teaching).During the 2019/2020 academic year, we delivered almost twenty courses in FAR (16 students per group) and our overall feedback exceeded expectations. Learners (including our colleagues in CDCFE) expressed much enjoyment in the course and high competence, emphasizing our use of formative assessment scenarios and summative assessment team resuscitation scenarios.

Project Manager

County Dublin, Ireland

Coordinated a pilot initiative called "Explore Initiative", incepted and funded by the Department of Education and Skills, overseen by the Regional Skills Forum and delivered by CDCFE. The initiative aims to develop the "digital competence" of general operatives in manufacturing who are at risk of unemployment, due to digital illiteracy. My tasks included:- Planning the timeline and structure of the initiative with managers, including the principal- Recruiting relevant companies and participants (telephone, email and face-to-face contact)- Planning management meetings and tutoring sessions- Communicating with all stakeholders- Recording details of participant projects- Mixed-methodology research, data analysis and report writing- Negotiating and relationship management- Record management and meeting deliverablesAs a tutor, I negotiated with learners and their employers to develop realistic, relevant and challenging projects to benefit both learner and company. Participants learned about, and applied, the SMART goal setting strategy, received ongoing support for their personal and professional projects, received learning-centred instruction; with particular emphasis on maintaining motivation. The pilot proved highly successful with significantly lower costs than predicted. I was humbled by the Dublin Regional Skills Forum Manager when she referred to me as "instrumental to the success of Explore" during a Breakfast Briefing advertising other initiatives.
