Identity information is stored in a mobile application, and hashes of the data are sent to a centralized private server. Third parties can verify the identity by issuing signed JSON certificates as a result. Users can then share their data transparently with merchants through a dashboard. At any point in the verification process, the data can be checked against its hash and safely deleted once verifications are successful.In a blockchain environment, the user's cryptocurrency wallet address can be whitelisted in a smart contract, providing a simple on-chain solution for merchants to allow their users to easily transact within a network of verified individuals. Blockpass is currently available on the Ethereum blockchain platform.Off-chain, the tool provides robust APIs for retrieving the status of verifications.
