I am a trial lawyer and litigator who handles who handles complex commercial litigation, negotiations, and business disputes, particularly in the oil-and-gas/energy/natural-resources industries and in cases involving technical subject matters. My primary practice involves representation of oil-and-gas upstream exploration and production (E&P) companies, midstream pipeline and transportation companies, and downstream utilities in litigation and regulatory matters. In addition, I represent government contractors, transportation companies, and hospitals and healthcare groups in a wide variety of litigation and regulatory contexts. I have tried multiple jury and non-jury trials in Colorado state and federal courts as well as state and federal courts throughout the country, and have also handled appeals before the Colorado Supreme Court and the Colorado Court of Appeals, as well as numerous federal courts of appeal nationwide. In addition, I handle regulatory matters before various state public utilities commissions in Colorado and nationwide.I worked for three years in the Washington, D.C. office of Holland & Knight, LLP as a law clerk while attending law school full time. I became an associate attorney at Holland & Knight in 1998. In 2004, I relocated to Colorado. I am now a founding partner of Holland & Knight's Denver, Colorado office. I am married and have two children and two step children. I am an avid skier, and also enjoy yoga, running, and CrossFit.
