I started off as a laborer that was shovel certified. After one summer I was given much more responsibilities doing smaller jobs with 1 to 2 helpers. Over the last summer, I ran a full crew of 3 with heavy machinery such as a 2-ton truck, a 1-ton truck and trailer with a skid loader. My position was to operate the skid loader and assign tasks to crew.

Creating a system that will allow for a 5 by 5 matrix of motors to be placed in a water flume to test the individual forces on the turbines. An arduino, with supporting shields and code, is used to control motors and compile the data to be examined. There will be a hands on experimental process to have a steady flow in a controlled environment to rotate.

I worked for a summer on a 15 foot aluminum skiff boat. It was difficult and dangerous work but it was a once in a lifetime experience that taught me a lot about the value of hard work, it also taught me how to work as a team in a very demanding atmosphere.The 3 month experience involved long hours on a boat working with 2-5 other people. We would go out.
