Alien 8
Greater Boston Area
Alien 8 is one of my earliest establishments for music as a teenager. Alien 8 was a Pop Punk/Punk Rock band from Boston, MA. Their first release was in 2007, as a self-titled EP containing 5 songs. The band then went on to sign with local record label Falling Shark Inc. (currently disbanded). In early 2008, Alien 8 moved to Plainville, MA for 1 month to record their official debut EP "10 Million Dollars". Working with Professional Producer Tony Autore (ex. Mo-Town, Interscope Records), the band established a sense of professionalism and attitude on what it takes to work in the industry. The debut single "10 Million Dollars", was showcased for a sold out show at the 939 Red Room in Boston, MA. In mid 2008, Alien 8 decided to disband from the label due to a disagreement on sound, and production of their upcoming EP. All the songs, and stems from this EP were discarded and never released besides the single "10 Million Dollars", which legally was taken off the internet to avoid lawsuits and issues. The band continued to go back to their roots, and independently released their second EP featuring the single "No Shame". The bands EP was an attempt to breakout with a new, and reformed sound, after learning what it takes to become a professional shopped band from their earlier mistakes. Following the release which took place in early 2009, the band went on to play 45+ shows all around New England. After several attempts grinding out the local scene with several recommendable reviews, the band decided to drastically advance their sound as they felt their age and experience meant for a change in music. By late 2009, the song-writing took place for the bands debut album, which was going to be shopped before its release. Because of issues in sound, the band disbanded due to personal issues of interest. There would only be one more reunion, which was targeted towards a possible opening show for All Time Low @ The Casino Ballroom. It fell through, and members moved on.
