Fit Out• Refinished wooden smallboats and entire schooner above and below the waterline including wood and fiberglass; completed a yard period including a Coast Guard hull and fastener examination.• Worked with minimal crew to rig entire schooner, including the stepping of masts and bowsprit, rigging all standing and running rigging, and bending on of sails.Sailing Season• Worked with deck crew to ensure the safe operation of the schooner in Penobscot Bay.• Provided underway maintenance on traditional coastal schooner rig.• Drove 70 HP tender yawlboat; rowed passengers to shore on Herreshoff tender and peapod smallboats.• Towed schooner with yawlboat into and out of harbor, including into narrow and crowded Camden Harbor for mooring.• Taught marlinspike seamanship and line handling during sail training programs for children and adults.• Station Bill Roles: Drove yawlboat in case of Man Overboard. Operated firepump in case of Fire. Secured passengers in life raft in case of Abandon Ship.
