- Lead development, clarification and integration of early-phase external innovation strategies for Lilly's key focus areas - oncology, diabetes, immunology, neurodegeneration, chronic pain. - Lead efforts to ensure external innovation opportunities are efficiently delivered into Lilly by leveraging a clear understanding of the existing portfolio and associated research strategy. - Extensive engagement with external collaborators (academics and associated networks, biotech, innovation hubs, etc) and funding entities (VC, public, private, etc) to help identify external innovation and alternate funding opportunities.
