I started with Vacasa when it was a late-stage startup, prior to the December 2021 SPAC merger that put VCSA on the NASDAQ. As an Analytics Engineer on the Data Platform team, I modeled complex data and built data pipelines, allowing product managers, engineers, data scientists, and business teams to make informed decisions across every aspect of the company.Outside of adhoc tasks, my role was focused primarily on the organization's Growth vertical (Sales & Marketing) and the HR vertical (Employees & Payroll). Some typical daily tasks involved creating new data models and pipelines (dbt / Snowflake / Redshift), adding new features and fixing bugs in existing models and pipelines, automating and streamlining processes, and translating business questions and concerns into specific quantitative questions that could be answered with the data available. In cases where questions could not be answered with available data, I worked with data engineers to produce the required data, by retrieving, synthesizing, and presenting (Looker / Tableau) critical data in a format that was immediately useful to answering specific questions or delivering actionable insight. Strategic Revenue Generation (SRG) focused on creating new growth opportunities for Liberty Mutual by generating non-traditional revenue within their Marketing, Direct & Digital, and Distribution & Services organizations. Most of my efforts involved expanding the “Choice” program, which allows Liberty Mutual agents to sell other insurance carriers’ products in situations where the Liberty Mutual quote is not competitive, or the risk is outside of Liberty Mutual’s “customer appetite”.As a Project Manager, I managed workstreams across a variety of teams, growing the business and improving organizational inefficiencies in the process. My largest projects involving managing SRG’s partner relationships, assisting with the integration and roll out of several new insurance carriers on the Choice platform, expanding the Choice program to Hawaii, and building and automating a dashboard to allow stakeholders to better understand gaps in our state and lines of business offerings.
