As a student leader, I planned and lead outing trips around Maine. These ranged in depth and content from day hikes, to climbing and biking trips, to overnight canoe trips. We spent this time closely with the participants and focused on learning about the outdoors.As a mechanic for the Blue Bikes program, I overhauled, cleaned, tuned, and assembled donated bicycles of all kinds. Working with a team to ensure appropriate signage and marketing materials are posted in their necessary spaces and that per-item advertisement reflects the electronic system. We also made sure the store was clean and presentable for customers before opening.

As a co-op with SAPPI, I was able to experience both an engineer's and a scientist's role in industry. I began working with PLC's and looking after production line equipment. I was present for many production-scale trials and was able to see equipment behavior first-hand. I also spent a term in the lab where I was able to contribute to and conduct several experiments.
