Promoted to Consultant. Whilst the role included all the tasks of an Assistant Consultant I focused on growing the consultancy business. Responsibilities include:• Managing the Flood Consult product. The creation of which included liaison with product managers, analysis of third party data, training of consultants and continuous workflow management;• Conducting Product Four enquiries to produce premium flood risk reports including Flood Consults and Flood Risk Assessments;• Assessing Flood Risk Assessments;• Taking queries and quoting for bespoke flood risk services;• Producing Phase One proposals, writing Phase One assessments and assessing Phase Two Reports when required;• Supporting junior members of the team

Argyll Environmental is an ISO19001 accredited risk management consultancy providing environmental services to the majority of the top law firms in the UK, SIPP’s and developers. Responsibilities include:• Producing environmental due diligence and flood risk liability assessments for residential properties, commercial properties and agricultural land transactions;• Conducting regulatory consultation with Local Authority departments (including Environmental Health, Planning and Petroleum Licensing) and the Environment Agency to obtain property specific information regarding Part 2A of the EPA, 1990; • Assessing Environmental Health responses, planning applications and building control documents;• Heading up the manual assessment of BIBA flood insurance;• Leading the training program for all new starters.

Overall aim: To transfer all paper documentation of electrical assets, under Western Power Distribution’s ownership, into an easily accessible computer format.The position involved interpreting technical electrical records produced within the last 60 years. Relevant information on both the service provided and cable characteristics were captured through CAD Microstation; a software package similar to ArcGIS. The position was target orientated and required a daily quota to be met; achieved through personal time management and prioritisation of workload.

An eight week internship with Bristol’s local lead flood authority working in the Flood Risk and Asset Management department. Main responsibility: To take lead on identifying and cataloguing all watercourse assets under Bristol City Council’s jurisdiction, following the EA CAMC (AIMS) asset terminology guide. Data collated through GIS enabled the creation of a Flood Risk Asset Register database in accordance to the Flood and Water Management Act 2010. Other activities included:• Visual analysis utilising ArcGIS 10.1;• Investigating high risk flood areas and applying flood mitigation techniques;• Identifying strategic locations for the collection of real-time precipitation data;• Sustainable Urban Drainage Scheme (SUDS).

In order to help fund my degree I worked at Sainsbury’s. I was highly motivated and managed my time effectively to ensure that my degree did not suffer. The job role was customer focused and required customer’s enquiries to be dealt with as efficiently as possible through a polite and approachable service.

Part time employment; within a year I was put in sole charge of the small family business whilst the proprietors took their annual holiday. This experience developed my decision making skills within a pressurised environment and improved my confidence to use my initiative ensuring the business remained efficient. During my employment I identified several possible areas for business expansion and cost reduction including the introduction of a reptile section which is now established and attracting new customers. Other skills gained included good communication with both, customers and suppliers, stock management through efficient organisation, cash handling and security.

Originally in the kitchen washing up and within six months began waiting, gradually gaining the experience to become a head waiter. To ensure efficiency and quality service tasks had to be delegated through successful leadership. Over my two years of employment I built good customer relations and learnt the value of good time management within a pressurised environment.
