Tom Mills is a communications and public affairs professional based in Somerville, Massachusetts. He specializes in writing and editing, internal/external communications, content and event production, media relations, strategic communications, and policy implementation.Tom has over a decade of experience helping leaders and organizations across public, private, and non-profit sectors tell their stories to both internal and external audiences through multiple mediums. He is an experienced writer of technical, narrative, and journalistic non-fiction and a ghostwriter who has written speeches for elected officials, leaders of organizations, and inexperienced public speakers alike. Tom has also served in various communications and government affairs roles in the Massachusetts State Legislature and the administrations of two Massachusetts Governors. He has been a member of senior staffs at agencies responsible for the implementation of major law changes, both at the Department of Transitional Assistance and the Massachusetts Gaming Commission.While working at Harvard University, he developed and managed strategic partnerships across the university and in the local and state communities to help advance and promote the university's local impact.Tom is currently the Communications Division Chief for the Massachusetts Gaming Commission where he leads strategic communications and media affairs, and serves as a policy advisor to the Commissioners and Executive Director.
