I was responsible for engaging with companies and stakeholders during the PR19 price control and providing advice to the programme SRO. Supported the Ofwat strategy on its innovation and social purpose threads.

I used my retail experience to increase innovation in the energy sector, helping innovators navigate regulatory complexity and simplifying policy where possible. Chaired the Eurogas committee concerned with developments in European energy retail markets. This involved:• Building relationships with the Commission, consumer groups such as BEUC and Citizens Advice and trade associations such as Eurelectric and Energy UK• Developing strategy in response to Commission proposals and policy ideas. • Participating in various conference panel sessions to explain the gas industry's view of retail developments.

Responsible for managing the relationship between British Gas and various consumer groups, e.g. Consumer Focus and CAB, on non-domestic regulation. Provide advice on and interpretation of existing Ofgem regulations, as well as working closely with colleagues to understand future Ofgem policy.

Headed up non-domestic regulatory issues for British Gas on an interim basis, in particular in relation to Micro Businesses. Led on the response to the non-domestic Retail Market Review, worked with Ofgem on development of the broker Code of Practice and established policy relationships with business consumer groups.
