Dissertation: Emotion in Plato's Trial of Socrates.My research examines the place of Plato's Socrates in the intellectual and social history of classical Athens. I explore the Socratic dialogue as a literary genre, the emotions and their function in Platonic texts, and intertextual connections between philosophy and other genres in classical literature.Teaching interests include Latin and Ancient Greek, Greek and Roman drama, and Greek social history.
