Ceo & Co-Founder
CurrentNovlr’s mission is to get creative writers achieving their writing goals. Those goals go way beyond just getting words onto the page, and our platform’s ambitions must match. It seems obvious but we want a world where writers can make a living from their writing, influence industry change and take advantage of emerging technologies. We're building the most comprehensive suite of tools for writers, spanning writing, editing, publishing, and marketing tools. As an alternative to traditional tech platforms that extract value from users without fairly distributing it, our writer-owners will own a stake in Novlr, have a say in its governance, influence and shape our future, and share in our success. Building a bootstrapped business, setting us on a path of sustainable growth, and bringing together the best possible team has been an incredible journey, and we're just getting started. Join us in our mission to revolutionize the writing industry and empower writers everywhere.

CurrentChild.org is committed to designing and implementing effective health interventions at the most dangerous times for children - pregnancy and the first six months of life. To achieve this means focusing on community-based healthcare and primarily working with mothers. Based in Nairobi, Kenya, Child.org started the rollout of their pregnant-women's groups in collaboration with local health workers in Meru, central Kenya, and are seeing tangible improvements in outcomes for women and their children. The goal is to sustainably integrate these groups into the healthcare system across Kenya.

Investor & Director
GoodJobs (then Utopy)'s mission was to integrate purpose-driven recruitment and training into a continuous cycle of personal growth in a professional capacity. We aimed to instill habitual learning into careers in non-profit, social enterprise, and purpose-driven organizations. As an investor and director, I recruited our executive team, established our strategy, and mentored our CEO until our runway ran out.
Chief Executive Officer
As CEO of Child.org, a Kenya/UK-based non-profit focused on peri-natal child health interventions and practical research, I led the organization through a transformative journey. When I joined in 2014, the organization lacked a clear strategy and faced financial insecurity. We redefined the organization's mission and strategy. We invested heavily in the quality of our work, including shifting technical leadership to Nairobi. We secured funding from the UK Department of International Development and other institutional donors. And, crucially, we cultivated a bold culture and brand that delivered 10x revenue growth.A key element of our strategy was our innovative approach to income generation. We built an internal incubator, spinning out small businesses under the non-profit umbrella, including an events company, travel company, and coworking space. Despite the challenges of COVID-19 lockdowns, I made the necessary difficult decisions to ensure the survival and continued success of Child.org. I now serve on the board and remain passionate about enabling more children to reach six months in good health.
Co-Founder
Bandstand Busking seamlessly blended digital content with live, intimate experiences in bandstands across London. Our unique approach not only brought new life to previously unused bandstands, but provided a platform for emerging artists to showcase their talents to a wider audience. With over 100 busks, our project reached an audience of over 7.5 million views and brought the best new music to the forefront.
Director
Whosit & Whatsit was a destination for unique, one-of-a-kind products from talented designers from around the world. We brought the best of the online marketplace to the local high-street, providing our customers with exclusive and original products for themselves and their homes. We stood for the people behind the products, and celebrated the designers by sharing their stories with our customers. With our unique business model, Whosit & Whatsit offered independent designers a new path to market, helping them connect with customers and build their brand. We were more than a store, we were a community of creators and enthusiasts, who shared a passion for design, craftsmanship and originality.
Director
We began as a digital agency, delivering cutting-edge platforms, apps, and websites for clients such as Gresham College and Macmillan Cancer Support. After five years of successful and profitable trading, we evolved into a company that used our expertise to invest in innovative projects such as Bandstand Busking and Novlr.
Head Of Digital & Crm
Responsible for all our internal and external technology strategy including digital, ICT and CRM; all external digital content, communications and campaigns; and for ensuring our digital touchpoints provided our users with an experience that lived up to our ambitious brand. I lead a team of digital specialists driving an organisational shift in a £25m charity towards a future of digital-first development ensuring the perfect foundation for dramatic fundraising, brand awareness and patient service growth. The fundraising infrastructure of the organisation was entirely overhauled, to ensure targeted, supported relationship management. A fully integrated CRM system was implemented so that every fundraiser in the organisation could use it every day. I launched a new digital fundraising platform providing our fundraisers with fundraising pages, blogs, profiles and access to the information we have in our CRM system. This platform continued to evolve with new tools for supporters each month. A fully integrated e-commerce solution and a stand alone innovation award-winning fundraising platform called Pledgeit are amongst countless other examples of digital innovations.Patient services were also at the heart of the role. This was a strategic shift for the organisation, moving from solely research into patient services. The decision to do this almost entirely digitally in the first instance was because of the quality of our digital output and the experience we could offer patients. The role also involved playing an integral part of the Leadership Group, Patient Impact Sub Committee, Strategic Planning Group, Planning and Budgeting Process Group, Strengthening the Organisation Group and many more. My role encompassed a whole range of areas from delivering patient services and planning supporter journeys to building the infrastructure to support all of those.
Digital Manager
While at Breast Cancer Care I oversaw the redesign and redevelopment of the digital offering. Moving to an open source technology and starting from scratch in terms of information architecture and user experience.
Social Publishing Manager
As Social Publishing Manager at Macmillan Cancer Support, I was responsible for Macmillan's online communities with around 40,000 active members. We offered a full range of social publishing tools to our members, including blogs, forums, chat rooms, profiles, friends, status updates, activity feeds, photos, videos and much more. At the time I delivered the most sophisticated health social network in the UK.One of the major challenges I oversaw was the integration of two large communities (15,000 and 30,000 active users respectively) into one. This involved seriously challenging community management as it was an enormous amount of change for two large loyal communities. The project was a success and now Macmillan's online community continues to flourish.
Online Development Editor
As online development editor I was responsible for the creation and developing of Cancerbackup's original What Now? website - the UK (and maybe the world's) first cancer social network - an information and support platform for people affected by cancer enabled a real sense of community and peer-to-peer support not found anywhere else. It included forums, profiles, blogs, chat rooms and much more. It was a large part of Macmillan Cancer Support's decision to merge with Cancerbackup - where I was given the responsibility of merging it into their digital offer.
Teenage Website Executive
- Online Community Management including forums, profiles, blogs etc- Online Community Strategy introducing video and images, more sophisticated profiles and easing communication restrictions- Moderation and control of a young, vulnerable membership of teenagers affected by cancer.- Content overhaul and editing- Online video production
Travel Writer / Sub Editor
