Planned and implemented biological monitoring for terrestrial and aquatic species, oversaw research programs and authored reports. Key Results:• Led a team to develop a habitat map for the federally threatened Alameda whipsnake using remote-sensing techniques to map a 28,000 acre protected area at a high level of precision and minimal cost• Forged partnerships with leading researchers resulting in the identification of a malicious fungal infection affecting threatened amphibian populations• Instrumental in obtaining ESA permit allowing internal staff to perform monitoring instead of biological contractors • Leveraged GIS and GPS technologies to streamline data collection and reporting, allowing a team of 3 biologists to support multiple infrastructure improvement projects

As a Fisheries Aide I performed a variety of fisheries and wildlife surveys including backpack electrofishing for rainbow trout, eye-shine and dip netting for California red-legged frog, Western pond turtle counts and Alameda whipsnake habitat assessments. I conducted radio telemetry monitoring of California red-legged frogs and assisted with the capture and marking of frogs. I developed a mobile GIS interface to streamline field data collection and implemented new field protocols. I built relational databases to integrate spatial and attribute data for analysis and display. I prepared reports and presented at conferences and public meetings.

As a Fisheries and Wildlife Intern for EBMUD I assisted biologist with a number of field surveys. I provided logistical and technical support for Salmonid redd surveys on the lower Mokelumne River. I assisted with eye-shine surveys for California red-legged frogs and tracked frog movements and habitat using radio telemetry.

Provided GIS solutions for Federal, non-governmental and municipal agencies. Used written and oral communication to explain complex spatial analysis in practical terms. Mist-netted for Indian bats with Vermont Fish and Wildlife. Taught GIS fundamentals to Argentinean naturalists.Key Results:• Created interactive maps linking biological inventory data with field locations to inform management decisions for the US Army Corps of Engineers• Identified nonrandom pattern to violent deaths in the city of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania for National Institutes of Health funded research project• Created urban green spaces vector data layer for the city of Córdoba, Argentina and identified conservation priorities based on core-habitat analysis in a bilingual written report

Conducted wildlife and vegetation surveys including monitoring vernal pools, small mammal trapping, bat mist netting, drift fence trapping and migratory bird transects.
