Being a part of the club for 6 years, I thought it fit to give something back and became an assistant then solo coach, teaching rookie lifesavers first aid skills.I was also given as a part of this the prestigious presidents award and elected the club captain for two years in a row. It involved me competing in events whilst mentoring and being a role model for the younger members. As a part of this I also pitched to the council for funding and on more than one occasion I managed to secure over £3,000 (more than I had initially asked for).
