I'm highly adaptable, confident and comfortable in both in a classroom and a forest. I'm proactive, and always thinking out of the box. I can positively influence the lives of people through primary/secondary or museum education. I have enjoyed a long and multi-faceted career as a Biologist and Educator with the USDA and always maintained professional ties to Education through official outreach work at USDA Career Days, Job Fairs, USDA Partners in Education Mentoring, etc. I have always been an active volunteer in communities in which I have lived and worked, such as being a Founding Member of The Wild Center in Tupper Lake, NY, a Fire Tower/ Museum Interpreter, a Nature Conservancy Preserve Monitor, an Audubon Board Member/Tour Guide, an Insect Surveyor for New York Natural Heritage Program and even an Odonate Surveyor at Ducks Unlimited Headquarters in Memphis, TN.Since my USDA retirement at age 55 I have thoroughly enjoyed my reintegration into the Education field through various Kindergarten to Grade 12 substitute teaching assignments working in eight NY State School Districts totaling thirty school buildings. I am currently a fully licensed Permanently Certified New York State Biology Teacher grades 5-12, and General Science Teacher grades 5-12, as well as recently being selected as an Executive Board Member for Northern New York Audubon Society and as Executive Board Member/ Naturalist /Summit Steward for the Friends of Mount Arab, a group responsible for the Mount Arab, NY fire tower. Every day is a new adventure. I have led a most interesting life, and have always held a Federal Background Clearance and currently have my fingerprints cleared by New York State Education Department OSPRA.
