As former deputy assistant general counsel at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission/US Department of Energy, I’ve been for very involved in the formulation and implementation of cutting-edge issues involving energy policy. As an Adjunct Professor at The George Washington University Graduate Business School, I have been teaching Corporate Law & Securities, and International Business Transactions and Finance for over 20 years. With over eight years’ experience in two large international law firms, I know how they operate which can be less than helpful. I have advised and negotiated complex transactions ranging from $200 million to $500 million. My international experience is extensive and includes China, India, Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Bulgaria, Romania, Macedonia, Indonesia, Nepal, and Dominican Republic. Under the U.S. Department financing, I have advised many of these countries on energy legal and regulatory forms to promote transparency and a favorable investment community. My transactional experience includes representing both project developers, lenders, and bond rating agencies such as S&P on large transactions.
