Reporting to VP, I was responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of the national Special Investigation Unit with the primary focus on the detection, investigation and suppression of non-meritorious claims across Canada. Responsibilities included: • Built and lead a multi skilled national senior investigation team.• Multiple high level projects with the focus on building systems and process to increase the detection and investigation of fraudulent activities.• Development of policies and procedures compliant to all company polices and Provincial and Federal Privacy Acts.• Created and delivered fraud training to over 200 frontline staff to improve early detection and escalation of potential fraudulent claims activity.• Directed and lead internal investigations, focusing on providing recommendations for policy changes and additional training to address any gaps in the claims handling process.

Directly reporting to the Vice President of Accident Benefits & Bodily Injury, Ontario Claims I was responsible for the implementation and oversight of the Ontario Accident Benefits (AB) claims Technical team to include $800,000 in Large Loss case reserving and Dispute Resolution of all mediated, arbitrated and litigated matters for the business unit. My responsibilities included but not limited to:• Two direct report who were responsible for 21 technical frontline staff with the responsibility for managing catastrophically injured customer with a focus on building a financial plan to ensure that treatment plans are executed for the short term and longer term rehabilitation.• Participate in government and Insurance Bureau of Canada committee for the development of auto reform legislation• Lead for technical training for over 200 frontline claims staff. • Creation and update all policies and procedures to ensure compliance with new reform, resulting in company passing Market Conduct Survey.• Collaborating with Actuarial and Finance departments to create and implement reserving strategy.
