Thomas Puschmann is a visionary leader with over 30 years of experience at the intersection of technology and business. As an early internet pioneer, he brought the first local government in Germany online in the early 1990s and introduced the internet at Siemens. Today, Thomas is the Founder and Executive Director of the Global Center for Sustainable Digital Finance at Stanford University and the University of Zurich, where he leads groundbreaking research and initiatives in digital finance.In addition, he is the Founder and Director of the Swiss FinTech Innovation Lab at the University of Zurich, one of the world’s first FinTech research labs. He is also a Professor at the University of the Fraser Valley, Canada, and a Co-Founder of several influential initiatives, including the Association Swiss FinTech Innovations, the Swiss Green FinTech Network, and Extreme Tech Challenge Switzerland.Thomas is a member of the Swiss Innovation Council (Innosuisse) and Co-Founder and Co-Publisher of the international journal Duckbucks - Future of Finance. He also serves as Editor-in-Chief of the Springer book series on Financial Innovation and Technology.As a trusted advisor for numerous national and international initiatives, Thomas helps shape the innovation ecosystem through advisory roles and board memberships. His previous academic roles include heading digital finance research centers at the Universities of St. Gallen and Leipzig and being a visiting scholar at MIT Sloan and Stanford University. Earlier in his career, Thomas held executive positions in consulting and software development, including at ESPRiT Consulting (now Wavestone) and The Information Management Group.
