We’ve created the world’s first smart mouthguard that monitors both physiological & biomechanics data… From heart rate to head impacts, for the first time athletes in contact and combat sports can track their performance and monitor their welfare. My responsibilities include:- Developing the company’s strategy for using technological resources.- Ensuring technologies are used efficiently, profitably and securely.- Evaluating and implementing new systems and infrastructure.- Design for manufacture of consumer electronics.- Embedded software development.- Design and manufacture of bespoke electronic & hardware prototypes.

I returned to Schlumberger as a summer intern making custom electronics, mechanical test rigs and using high speed cameras in conjunction with LabVIEW.

During the summer I worked remotely in the evenings for Loughborough University developing 3D printed waterproof enclosures for UAV’s.

Industrial placement for my Diploma in Industrial Studies (DIS). My roles included:- Software design and development in LabVIEW and Python.- Circuit design and through-hole PCB design/manufacture.- 3D printing/traditional manufacture of CAD parts.- Experimental instrumentation.- High-speed data acquisition.- High-speed camera assembly, monitoring and analysis.- Active member of Loss Prevention Team, organising safety campaigns, conducting and documenting safety inspections.- Creating short videos for media/marketing.- Creating graphics e.g. posters, tracking stickers for high-speed footage.- Traveling to Paris (SRPC), Gloucestershire (SHTC) and Leicestershire (Bottesford) sites for different experiments.
