My name is Thomas (Rulzion) Rattray known as Rulzion (pronounced Rullion), this is an old Scots name and in common with many Scots names is written with a Z, the Z represents the old Scots letter known as a Yogg and is silent but denotes an emphasis on the preceding letter.I started my career working as a Mining Engineer and worked extensively in Africa; during this time I set up and ran a small mining company employing more than 200 people. I moved on to take on more consultancy roles and worked in International Import Export roles before specialising in Scenario Planning where I worked with a wide number of organisations, including the UK Cabinet Office, Trak Europe and ICL-Fujitsu. I have worked with a number of universities in the UK and abroad, including the Universities of St Andrews and Aberdeen, as well as with international universities in Sweden, Finland, Qatar and Russia.I have a wide range of teaching experience and have developed and delivered courses, in subjects ranging from Supply Chain Management, Strategic and Change Management, Marketing, Economics to specialist courses in Scenario Planning amongst others. Now semi retired, my last HE role in the UK was working as the Director of the Oil and Gas Academy of Scotland where I worked with the Universities of Aberdeen, Robert Gordon and Heriot Watt and the North-East Scotland and Forth Valley Colleges in developing capacity for the oil & gas industry, projects with industry partners such as Shell UK & Global Production Academies, Oceaneering International Inc., ServGroup, Wood Group PSN, Tritech, Mintra and others.My research interests have been in process consultancy, scenario planning, as well areas such as accessibility, usability and security of online commercial web pages. On a personal level I have a great interest in Scottish history and culture and particularly that of the Scottish Gael, their language, poetry and music. I studied Scots Gaelic at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig in Skye. I am also a founder member, historian and part of the officer group for the Clan Rattray Society, a Clan Society developed in 1993, with over 200 members worldwide, hosting international Clan gatherings every 4 years.
