I have the pleasure of helping brands and the creatives that serve them to satisfy their typographic needs through providing the perfect type. Whether it's a new library release, a modification of an existing typeface, or a new bespoke typeface family, I enjoy helping customers find their visual voice.

I have the privilege of working with an incredible team of type designers across the globe, who create the letterforms you read every day, and the letterforms that communicate and define the voice of the brands you know and love.

On December 8, 2010 I returned to Monotype and many of my friends to help build the highest quality fonts in the business for companies like Microsoft, Google, Nokia, Oracle and many more.

I was one of the four founding partners to launch Ascender, along with Ira Mirochnick, Steve Matteson and Bill Davis. My focus at Ascender was on the technical aspects of font development, including developing product specifications, “hinting” of TrueType data, building OpenType layout tables and producing and testing final font data. In addition I worked.

For two years I was a self employed type designer and font developer for hire. I primarily worked with the Font Bureau of Boston, Massachusetts. I drew typefaces with them for Adobe, Esquire Magazine, Prodigy and others. Among the faces I collaborated on were Tekton Multiple Master and Graphite Multiple Master. I provided TrueType hinting services to Apple.

Cupertino, California

I was the lead Typographer on the TrueType development team for Macintosh System 7, among giants in the industry like Dave Opstad and Mike Reed. I hinted the first Helvetica Regular, helped develop hinting methodologies for the remainder of the core TrueType fonts, and was largely responsible for the typographic quality of those fonts. Santa Clara, California

I learned the art and science of typeface hinting at QMS Imagen, where I was hired by Charles Bigelow of Bigelow & Holmes. In addition to hinting I was co-designer of a music font named Crescendo.

Rochester, New York

For about a year near the end of my college career, I worked part time at a small software company named OmniPage. This was not the company which published OCR scanning software, but a lesser known firm that was building a high-end desktop publishing platform. I was hired to hand edit bitmaps to accompany their unhinted outline fonts. I edited a wide range.
